Found in Nariño and Choco departments of Colombia and Esmeraldas province of Ecuador at elevations of 750 to 1950 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by close tubular sheaths above the base and carrying a single, apical, thinly coriaceous, spreading, sessile, broadly ovate, subacute, shortly acuminate, basally deeply cordate leaf that blooms in the fall on a fascile, arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf, of successive single flowered, short inflorescence witha shorter than the epdicel floral bract.
