Anthurium crystallinum x Anthurium Lavinia

Anthurium crystallinum x Anthurium Lavinia

An exceptional hybrid combining Anth. crystallinum and Anth. Lavinia, inheriting the bold velvety texture and striking white venation of crystallinum alongside the elongated, heart-shaped leaf form of Lavinia. New leaves emerge in soft silvery-pink to blush tones before deepening to rich dark green at maturity.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun, which damages the velvety leaf surface. An east-facing window or a few feet back from a bright south/west exposure is ideal.
  • Temperature: Warm-growing — 65–85°F (18–29°C). Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: High humidity essential, ideally 70–85%. A humidifier is strongly recommended to maintain the velvety leaf texture and prevent browning edges.
  • Watering: Water when the top inch of substrate begins to dry; never allow to sit in standing water. Use well-draining, chunky aroid mix to prevent root rot.

Additional Notes:

Leaves are large, elongated-cordate with a deep velvety dark green surface and prominent, contrasting white primary and secondary venation — a trait strongly inherited from crystallinum. The blush-to-silver coloration of new growth adds a dramatic seasonal display. A terrestrial to semi-epiphytic grower; benefits from a loose, well-aerated substrate and stable warm conditions year-round.
