Alocasia 'Mandalay'

Alocasia 'Mandalay'

A captivating tropical aroid distinguished by its deep forest-green leaves adorned with bold, contrasting white veins that radiate from the center in a striking geometric pattern. The wavy, undulating leaf margins add a sculptural quality that makes it an eye-catching focal point in any indoor space.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun to prevent leaf scorch. A north- or east-facing window is ideal.
  • Temperature: Warm growing; thrives at 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: High humidity, ideally 60–80%. Use a humidifier or pebble tray to maintain moisture levels.
  • Watering: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot; reduce frequency in winter.

Additional Notes:

Broadly ovate leaves with a velvety dark green surface and highly contrasting white veins create an almost graphic, map-like appearance. May go dormant in low-light or cool conditions, dying back to the corm before re-sprouting.
