This miniature, epiphytic orchid is native to the lowland tropical forests of West and Central Africa. This variety is known for being larger than the standard species and is famous for its small, purple flowers with a hairy, mobile lip that features white to pale pink hairs, giving it the common name "The Dancing Bulbophyllum".
Due to its compact size and short roots, this plant is ideally suited for mounting on cork or tree fern, or growing in shallow baskets or pots using a highly moisture-retentive medium like sphagnum moss.
