Philodendron verrucosum Amaluza

Philodendron verrucosum Amaluza

A rare selection of Phil. verrucosum, distinguished by its striking copper-bronze venation on young foliage that transitions to creamy-white on deep green mature leaves. Golden-brown hairy petioles and a rosy-coral cataphyll complete an ornamental profile unlike any other verrucosum form.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; essential to bring out the copper venation on young leaves and the depth of the mature dark green foliage. Avoid direct sun.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to cool-growing; prefers 60–75°F (15–24°C). Protect from heat above 85°F (29°C) and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: High humidity essential — maintain 70–90%. A humidifier or enclosed growing space is strongly recommended.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist but never waterlogged. Allow the top inch to dry slightly between waterings; excellent drainage is critical.
  • Growth Habit: Vining and climbing; benefits from a moss pole or support structure to encourage larger leaf development as it matures.

Additional Notes:

The 'Amaluza' form is distinguished by its copper-bronze venation on young leaves, golden-brown hairy petioles, and rosy cataphyll — a combination of ornamental details that sets it apart from other verrucosum selections.
