Rhaphidophora tetrasperma variegada

Rhaphidophora tetrasperma variegada

One of the most coveted variegated aroids in the collector's market, this variegated form of the beloved Mini Monstera from Southeast Asia dazzles with its deeply fenestrated, split leaves splashed and sectored in creamy white to pale yellow tones against a rich green background. Fast-growing and vigorous, it delivers maximum visual impact in minimal space.

  • Light: Bright indirect light is essential to sustain variegation and healthy growth. Avoid direct sun, which scorches the lighter leaf sections, and low light, which may cause reversion to green.
  • Temperature: Warm-growing; thrives between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: Prefers high humidity (60–80%). A humidifier or enclosed growing space promotes optimal leaf size and variegation expression.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist but well-drained. Allow the top inch to dry slightly between waterings; avoid waterlogging at the roots.
  • Growth Habit: Fast-growing vining climber; strongly benefits from a moss pole or trellis to encourage larger, more fenestrated leaves. Can also trail from a hanging basket, though leaf size will remain smaller without vertical support.

Additional Notes:

Variegation pattern varies from plant to plant — each specimen is unique. The combination of fenestrations and variegation makes this one of the most visually striking compact aroids available. Fertilize lightly during the growing season with a balanced, diluted fertilizer to support vigorous variegated growth.
