Cattleya trianae quasi f. alba

This elegant orchid displays broad white petals with softly ruffled edges and a contrasting golden-yellow throat. Its refined floral presentation makes it a graceful centerpiece for an intermediate-growing orchid collection.

  • Light: Bright, filtered light near an east-facing window or behind a sheer curtain in a south-facing exposure. Gentle morning sun is beneficial; avoid harsh midday sunlight.
  • Temperature: Intermediate-growing, ideally 65–80°F (18–27°C) during the day and 55–65°F (13–18°C) at night. Provide a noticeable nighttime temperature drop.
  • Humidity: Aim for 50–70% humidity with steady, gentle air circulation.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth, allowing the potting medium to nearly dry between waterings. Use a well-draining orchid bark mix and never leave the pot standing in water. Reduce watering after growth matures, while preventing excessive pseudobulb shriveling.

Additional Notes:

Upright pseudobulbs carry firm, leathery green leaves and gradually develop into a clump. Leave room for new growth at the edge of the pot, and repot when fresh roots begin to emerge. Keep developing buds dry and protect open flowers from strong drafts.
