Dendrobium Daeng # 103

Deep wine-purple flowers with darker throats are arranged along gracefully arching spikes, creating a rich, elegant display. Broad, overlapping petals give each bloom a rounded silhouette that stands out beautifully in an orchid collection.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light with gentle morning sun. An east-facing window or lightly shaded greenhouse is suitable; protect from harsh midday sun.
  • Temperature: Warm-growing; aim for days of 75–85°F (24–29°C) and nights of 62–68°F (17–20°C). Protect from cold drafts and prolonged chilling.
  • Humidity: Aim for 50–70% with steady air circulation. Avoid leaving flowers wet overnight.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth, allowing an airy orchid mix to approach dryness before watering again. Reduce frequency when growth slows, without imposing a prolonged dry rest. Feed with dilute orchid fertilizer while new growth and roots are developing.

Additional Notes:

Use a well-drained pot with an open bark-based mix and leave room around developing flower spikes. Stake gently if needed to support the arching display. Retain healthy mature canes, and repot when fresh roots begin to emerge rather than disturbing established roots unnecessarily.
