This orchid is a popular cross between two color forms of C. purpurata. It's specifically bred for flowers that show exceptionally intense red-purple color in the lip. It grows robust, club-shaped pseudobulbs topped by a single, tough leaf.
Flowers are large (6-8"), showy, and often fragrant, with 3 to 7 blooms per spike. For best growth, use well-draining media (bark or clay pellets) and only repot when new roots start to appear.
