Cattlianthe Little Irene

Cattlianthe Little Irene

Cattlianthe Little Irene is a charming compact orchid hybrid resulting from the cross of Ctt. Porcia and Ctt. George MacDonell. This cattleya alliance hybrid is distinguished by its small stature and delightful blooms with excellent substance and coloration, producing proportionally large flowers relative to its compact plant size.

  • Light: Bright, filtered light equivalent to 2000-3000 foot-candles. Provide morning sun with protection from intense afternoon rays. East-facing windows work well.
  • Temperature: Intermediate temperatures between 18-26°C (65-79°F) with good air circulation. Slight nighttime temperature drops encourage blooming.
  • Humidity: Moderate to high humidity levels of 50-70%. Use humidity trays or group with other plants.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when potting medium approaches dryness. Reduce watering during winter rest period.

Additional Notes:

Benefits from well-draining orchid bark mix and regular orchid fertilizer during growing season. The compact growth habit makes it ideal for windowsill cultivation and small collections.
