Philodendron verrucosum Angel

Philodendron verrucosum Angel

A luminous and elegant selection of Phil. verrucosum, 'Angel' presents large, cordate leaves in deep glossy green with a striking radiating network of bright yellow-green venation that emanates from the center of each leaf. The smooth, glossy surface and clean venation pattern give this form a refined, almost architectural quality, complemented by dark burgundy-red petioles that add a bold contrast.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; brings out the full luminosity of the yellow-green venation against the dark glossy surface. Avoid direct sun.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to cool-growing; prefers 60–75°F (15–24°C). Protect from heat above 85°F (29°C) and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: High humidity essential — maintain 70–90%. A humidifier or enclosed growing space is strongly recommended.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist but never waterlogged. Allow the top inch to dry slightly between waterings; excellent drainage is critical.
  • Growth Habit: Vining and climbing; benefits from a moss pole or support structure to encourage larger, more dramatically veined leaves as it matures.

Additional Notes:

Distinguished from other verrucosum selections by its glossy (non-velvety) leaf surface, bright yellow-green radiating venation, and smooth dark burgundy petioles without trichomes. A vigorous and rewarding grower.
