Native to the high-altitude cloud forests of the Andes, Ceratostema lanigerum is a striking epiphytic shrub known for its woolly, velvety leaves (hence "lanigerum," meaning "wool-bearing") and vibrant pendulous flowers.
Special Notes:
Flowers: Brilliant orange-red tubular blooms, emerge in clusters, attracting hummingbirds.
Challenge: Advanced – Environmental changes can sometimes stress the plant, causing it to lose leaves, which is normal and part of the adaptation process to its new environment. It requires high and stable humidity levels and minimal handling. It is essential to be patient, as leaf loss is normal during the acclimatization period.
