Coryhopea Uzhupud Paradise

Coryhopea Uzhupud Paradise

This remarkable intergeneric hybrid, a cross between Coryanthes macrantha and Stanhopea tricornis, combines the exotic bucket-shaped flowers of Coryanthes with the fragrant, waxy blooms of Stanhopea, creating spectacular pendant inflorescences with intense fragrance that attract pollinators and collectors alike.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40-60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun which can damage the delicate flowers and foliage.
  • Temperature: Intermediate grower. Daytime 70-80°F (21-27°C), nighttime 55-65°F (13-18°C). Benefits from moderate day-night temperature differential to encourage blooming.
  • Humidity: 60-80% with excellent air circulation; maintain high humidity to support the large, pleated leaves and pendant flower development.
  • Watering: Keep consistently moist year-round; water daily or every other day as these orchids have no pseudobulbs for water storage.

Additional Notes

Must be grown in hanging baskets with open slat construction to allow pendant flowers to emerge downward through the bottom. Use coarse bark mix or sphagnum moss for optimal drainage.
