Philodendron gloriosum (medium)

A beloved collector's aroid from Colombian rainforests, known for its velvety, heart-shaped leaves with striking white veins and a soft, matte texture that sets it apart from other Philodendrons.

• Light: Bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can bleach or burn the foliage. A spot near an east or north-facing window is ideal.
• Temperature: Warm-growing. Thrives between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from drafts and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
• Humidity: 60–80%. Use a humidifier or pebble tray to maintain adequate moisture around the plant.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot.
• Growth Habit: Terrestrial creeper — spreads horizontally along the ground rather than climbing. Does not require a moss pole; it benefits from a wide pot that allows it to sprawl naturally.

Additional Notes:

Leaves are velvety to the touch with a deep green background and prominent white to pale cream venation. New growth emerges with a pinkish-red hue, adding seasonal color interest. A slow to moderate grower that rewards patience with increasingly larger and more dramatic foliage as it matures.
