Alocasia Ninja

A dramatic collector Alocasia with intensely dark, velvety leaves and bold white venation — one of the most striking foliage contrasts in the genus. The deep near-black surface paired with a bronze-purple reverse gives it an unmistakable, jewel-like presence.

• Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun, which can fade the dark foliage. Thrives under grow lights or near a bright, filtered window.
• Temperature: Warm-growing — 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
• Humidity: 70–85%. High humidity is essential to maintain the velvet texture and prevent leaf edge browning.
• Watering: Allow the top inch of substrate to dry between waterings; Alocasias are sensitive to overwatering and need excellent drainage.
• Growth Habit: Compact, upright rhizomatous Aroid that grows in a clumping form; does not climb and stays relatively tidy, making it well-suited for indoor display.

Foliage is the showpiece: large, ovate-cordate leaves with a deeply textured, near-black velvety surface and striking white primary and secondary venation. The leaf reverse displays rich bronze-purple tones. Like most Alocasias, it may enter a rest period in lower light or cooler months — reduce watering accordingly and resume once new growth appears.
