Anthurium argyrostachyum 'Velvety' Culture:

The velvety texture of this variety is unique and even more so when the plant develops its new leaves and you can appreciate their growth. Here are some recommendations: 

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves.
  • Temperature: Thrives in warm, humid temperatures typical of tropical climates. Ideal temperatures range between 18°C and 30°C (64°F and 86°F).
  • Humidity: Requires high ambient humidity. The use of humidifiers, frequent misting, or cultivation in terrariums may be necessary.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.

Not what I expected but not disappointed!

Most of the time when I see/hear velvety anthurium I expect soft flimsy/flowy leaves, but these leaves are thicker with a very odd soft texture. Almost like an alocasia frydek texture but with hard leaves! Definitely an oddity in my collection but 100% worth it!!

A little stunner!

This plant is gorgeous in person. The leaves are thick, but very soft. There’s a slight sheen to it. I’d highly recommend this little stunner.
