Anthurium Arquimedes in Luxury

Anthurium Arquimedes in Luxury

A distinctive hybrid between Anth. Eureka and Anth. luxurians, combining bold corrugated texture with an eye-catching leaf shape. The large cordate leaves display deeply impressed lateral venation inherited from luxurians — a prominent ribbed pattern that runs parallel across the glossy green surface — while new growth emerges with a striking bifurcated apex in bright lime green, adding a sculptural quality unique to this cross.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window, or under grow lights.
  • Temperature: Intermediate-warm growing — 65°F–82°F (18°C–28°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Use a humidifier or high-humidity enclosure for best results. Avoid dry air from heating or AC vents.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of the substrate feels dry. Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix. Never let roots sit in standing water.
  • Growth Habit: Upright; benefits from a moss pole or totem as it matures to support its large, textured leaves.

Additional Notes:

The deeply corrugated lateral venation — almost rib-like in appearance — is the defining textural trait of this hybrid, a direct inheritance from Anth. luxurians. The bifurcated apex on new growth adds a further point of distinction. Burgundy petioles complement the overall display. Minor variation between individuals is expected.
