Anthurium Magnificent Silver x Anthurium luxurians 'Oasis' (seedling)

Anthurium Magnificent Silver x Anthurium luxurians 'Oasis' (seedling)

A seedling hybrid between Anth. Magnificent Silver 'I.c.' and Anth. luxurians 'Oasis', combining the deep blue-grey silver leaf tone of Magnificent Silver with the compact, rounded form of the 'Oasis' clone of luxurians. Young leaves emerge in bright yellow-green before maturing into dark, blue-grey ovate leaves with a moderately bullate surface and a pronounced silver sheen — a transformation that becomes more striking with each new leaf.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window, or under grow lights.
  • Temperature: Intermediate-warm growing — 65°F–80°F (18°C–27°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Use a humidifier or high-humidity enclosure for best results. Avoid dry air from heating or AC vents.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of the substrate feels dry. Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix. Never let roots sit in standing water.
  • Growth Habit: Low and spreading; produces compact ovate-cordiform leaves in a horizontal, open arrangement. Benefits from adequate horizontal space rather than vertical support.
  • Maintenance: As a seedling, this plant benefits from stable humidity and temperatures. Avoid sudden environmental changes and repot only when roots are well established.

Additional Notes:

The bullate surface intensifies the silver-blue sheen on mature leaves, with lighter primary and secondary venation visible in relief. The 'I.c.' designation in the origin indicates the Magnificent Silver parent was used in inverse crossing order. The 'Oasis' designation refers to a selected clone of Anth. luxurians known for its compact, rounded leaf form.
