Anthurium magnificum x Anthurium Gold Rush

Anthurium magnificum x Anthurium Gold Rush

A hybrid of Anth. magnificum × Anth. Gold Rush, combining a stately Andean species with a vigorous ornamental hybrid. It produces large, cordate leaves with deeply impressed venation, a lightly bullate texture, and reddish petioles; new leaves emerge with warm coppery tones that gradually deepen to a rich, dark matte surface at maturity.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can bleach or scorch the developing lamina.
  • Temperature: 60–75°F (16–24°C); an intermediate-warm grower that thrives with stable temperatures and no cold drafts.
  • Humidity: 70–90%; sustained high humidity promotes full leaf expansion and enhances the bullate surface texture.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top layer of substrate begins to dry; avoid waterlogged conditions and never let the roots dry out completely.
  • Growth Habit: Upright and robust, with large cordate leaves on reddish petioles that flush warm tones when new; this cross layers the bold architectural presence of A. magnificum with the vigor and adaptability of Gold Rush, producing a fast-growing, highly collectible foliage aroid.

Additional Notes

Arrival & Establishment Recommendation: Upon arrival, plant promptly in a well-draining aroid mix (bark, perlite, and sphagnum) and water thoroughly to rehydrate the roots; allow the plant to acclimate in a humid, shaded spot for the first two weeks before introducing to its permanent position.
