Anthurium papillilaminum x Anth. Urban Oasis (seedling)

Anthurium papillilaminum x Anth. Urban Oasis (seedling)

A promising seedling hybrid between Anth. papillilaminum and Anth. Urban Oasis, combining the broad, velvety foliage of papillilaminum with the warm copper tones of Urban Oasis. Even at this early stage, the large, rounded leaves display a deep green velvety surface with subtle primary venation — a preview of the impressive foliage this cross will develop at maturity.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window, or under grow lights.
  • Temperature: Intermediate-warm growing — 65°F–82°F (18°C–28°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Use a humidifier or high-humidity enclosure for best results. Avoid dry air from heating or AC vents.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of the substrate feels dry. Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix. Never let roots sit in standing water.
  • Growth Habit: Upright; benefits from a moss pole or totem as it matures to support its increasingly large, rounded leaves.
  • Maintenance: As a seedling, this plant benefits from stable humidity and temperatures. Avoid sudden environmental changes and repot only when roots are well established.

Additional Notes:

Leaves are broadly ovate with a lightly bullate, velvety surface and subtle cream-green primary venation inherited from Anth. papillilaminum. New growth emerges in warm copper-terracotta — a trait from the Urban Oasis parent. Burgundy petioles complement the warm tones of the new flush. Minor variation between individuals is expected.
