More information

Anthurium papillilaminum x Anthurium Lightning

Anthurium papillilaminum x Anthurium Lightning

A hybrid between Anth. papillilaminum and Anth. Lightning with a striking venation color shift: young leaves show golden-yellow primary veins on a medium green surface, while mature leaves develop deep copper-bronze venation over a dark velvety blade — making each growth stage visually distinct.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window, or under grow lights.
  • Temperature: Intermediate-warm growing — 65°F–82°F (18°C–28°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Use a humidifier or high-humidity enclosure for best results. Avoid dry air from heating or AC vents.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of the substrate feels dry. Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix. Never let roots sit in standing water.
  • Growth Habit: Upright; produces large cordate-bilobed leaves with well-separated upper lobes and open basal sinuses. Benefits from a moss pole or totem as it matures.

Additional Notes:

The heavily velvety, bullate surface intensifies with leaf age. The copper-bronze venation on mature leaves is a rare and highly ornamental trait inherited from the Lightning lineage. The luminous petiole insertion point is visible on all leaves. Minor variation between individuals is expected.
