This rare epiphytic aroid is highly coveted for its cordate, deeply bullate leaves that feature a distinct "pebble-like" or corrugated texture. It is distinguished by long petioles and a fine, granular pubescence on the veins of the lower leaf surface, showcasing a lush, deep green foliage.
This variety is endemic to the moist montane forests of Ecuador, making it sensitive to heat stress and chemical buildup in water. It thrives in a highly porous, well-aerated mix—such as sphagnum moss, perlite, and orchid bark—and benefits significantly from the use of rainwater or distilled water.
