More information

Anthurium vittariifolium

Anthurium vittariifolium

This is an epiphytic aroid highly valued for its dramatic, exceptionally long, strap-like leaves that can cascade for several feet. It has a naturally graceful, hanging growth habit.

  • Light: Requires bright, indirect, filtered light. Avoid all direct sun exposure, which can easily scorch the foliage.
  • Temperature: Thrives in warm, consistent temperatures, ideally between 68-86°F (20-30°C). Protect strictly from temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
  • Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally 70% or more, for healthy leaf development. A humidifier is highly recommended.
  • Watering: Water frequently to keep the chunky, well-draining substrate consistently moist. This plant does not tolerate drying out completely.

Additional Notes

This plant is highly valued for its unique, flowing, ribbon-like foliage, making it a striking display plant. As an aroid, it contains calcium oxalate crystals, meaning all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested. Handle with care and keep away from children and pets.
