Anthurium waterburyanum (Big)

Anthurium waterburyanum (Big)

A large-growing form of Anth. waterburyanum, selected for its exceptional size potential. This vigorous species develops broad, cordate leaves with a glossy bright green surface and well-defined primary and secondary venation — a clean, bold foliage display that becomes increasingly impressive as the plant reaches its full dimensions.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window, or under grow lights.
  • Temperature: Intermediate-warm growing — 65°F–82°F (18°C–28°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Use a humidifier or high-humidity enclosure for best results. Avoid dry air from heating or AC vents.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of the substrate feels dry. Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix. Never let roots sit in standing water.
  • Growth Habit: Upright and multi-stemmed; produces multiple leaves simultaneously with strong vigor. Benefits from a sturdy moss pole or totem as it reaches full size.

Additional Notes:

Leaves are smooth and glossy with a pronounced cordate shape and well-defined venation. New growth emerges in bright green, maturing to a rich, deep green. The multi-stemmed, bushy habit makes this an excellent statement plant for larger spaces. Minor variation between individuals is expected.
