This is a rare and striking tropical tree native to the rainforests of Ecuador and western South America, belonging to the legume family Fabaceae. Prized by collectors of unusual tropical species, it produces lush, pinnate foliage with an elegant, architectural presence that makes it a standout specimen in any tropical collection or greenhouse setting.
Additional Notes:
Foliage is pinnately compound, with glossy leaflets that emerge with a reddish-bronze flush before maturing to deep green — a particularly ornamental trait. As a young specimen, it grows as a manageable shrub before developing its characteristic tree form. Best suited for tropical and subtropical climates or controlled greenhouse environments. A rare find for serious collectors of Ecuadorian and Neotropical flora.
