Bulbophyllum antenniferum

This is a miniature to small-sized epiphyte found growing on tree trunks and rocks at elevations of 300 to 1500 meters, distributed from Peninsular Thailand to New Guinea and the Philippines. It is characterized by ovoid pseudobulbs that support a single leathery leaf.

• Light: Requires filtered or dappled light (semi-shade). It can handle several hours of bright diffused light, but intense direct sun must be avoided.
• Temperature: Grown as a Warm to Intermediate temperature species. The ideal range is between 60-90°F (15.5-32.2°C). While tolerant of cooler conditions, it thrives best in warm environments.
• Humidity: Prefers high humidity (around 70-80%). Consistent air movement is crucial to prevent fungal issues.
• Watering: Water liberally and frequently to keep the potting medium consistently moist. Mounted plants may need daily watering; do not allow the roots to dry out completely.

Additional Notes

The single, large flower measures 45 to 85 mm. The name antenniferum refers to its small petals that end in filiform tips, giving an antenna-like appearance; flowers are typically reddish-brown, pale green, or yellow.
