This exceptional ornamental foliage plant is celebrated for its dramatic seasonal display and striking architectural presence, making it a showstopper in any tropical plant collection.

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate some morning sun but avoid harsh direct sunlight which can scorch the delicate leaves and fade the vibrant colors.
  • Temperature: Thrives in warm temperatures. Ideal range between 20-28°C (68-82°F). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 18°C (65°F) which can cause dormancy.
  • Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally between 60-80%. Use humidity trays, regular misting, or a humidifier to maintain optimal moisture levels around the plant.
  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the growing season. Allow slight drying between waterings and reduce frequency significantly during dormant periods.

  • Foliage Characteristics: Features large, heart-shaped leaves with white centers, green veins, and pink edges. The leaves glow when light passes through them. This tuberous plant rests in cooler months and grows again when it gets warmer.
