Cattleya Intermedia-Gigas f. alba

Cattleya Intermedia-Gigas f. alba

A breathtaking alba-form hybrid from the cross of C. intermedia and C. warscewiczii, producing large, pristine white flowers with a waxy, luminous texture throughout petals, sepals, and lip. The complete absence of pigmentation makes this a highly sought-after form among collectors.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; a south- or east-facing window with filtered light is ideal. Avoid harsh midday sun to prevent leaf burn.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm growing; thrives at 60–82°F (15–28°C). Tolerates mild temperature drops at night, which can encourage blooming.
  • Humidity: 50–70% relative humidity. Good air circulation is essential to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly, then allow the potting medium to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering during the rest period after flowering.

Additional Notes:

Flowers are large, rounded, and fully white with a waxy sheen and a subtly ruffled lip. Typically produces 2–4 blooms per spike with a pleasant light fragrance. A rare and prized addition to any Cattleya collection.
