This is a classic, medium-sized, bifoliate Cattleya species native to Brazil, where it grows as an epiphyte on trees or a lithophyte on rocks. It is highly valued for its waxy, long-lasting flowers.
The waxy flowers, measuring about 4.5 inches (11cm) across, often possessing a milk chocolate scent. This is considered a mid-sized Cattleya. Mature flowering growths typically reach a height of8-12 (20-30cm), making it one of the more compact bifoliate species suitable for windowsills or space-conscious collectors.
