Cattleya warscewiczii sanderiana Pangui

Among the most magnificent of all Cattleyas, the var. sanderiana form of Cattleya warscewiczii is celebrated for its exceptionally large, richly colored flowers in vivid rose-lavender with a deep magenta-purple lip and a brilliant golden-yellow throat — a true showpiece of the orchid world.

• Light: Bright indirect light; tolerates some morning sun. Aim for 2,000–3,000 foot-candles. Avoid harsh midday sun, which can burn the leaves.
• Temperature: Intermediate to warm-growing; thrives between 58–85°F (14–29°C). A 10–15°F (5–8°C) drop at night helps trigger blooming.
• Humidity: Moderate to high humidity, ideally 50–70%. Good air circulation is essential to prevent fungal issues on the large pseudobulbs and leaves.
• Watering: Water thoroughly, then allow the medium to approach dryness before watering again. Reduce watering after new pseudobulbs mature to encourage flowering.

Additional Notes:

Best grown in medium to coarse bark in clay or plastic pots, or mounted on cork slabs for superior drainage. Repot every 2–3 years when the medium breaks down or roots overflow the container.
