Dendrobium Boonchoo Gold

This vibrant hybrid carries golden-yellow flowers with reddish veining concentrated toward the center and richly colored magenta lips. Gently curved floral segments give the sprays an open, lively appearance with striking warm-toned contrast.

  • Light: Bright, filtered light near an east-facing window or in a lightly shaded greenhouse. Gentle morning sun is suitable; protect from harsh midday exposure.
  • Temperature: Warm-growing; aim for daytime temperatures of 75–85°F (24–29°C) and nights of 65–70°F (18–21°C). Avoid cold drafts and prolonged chilling.
  • Humidity: Aim for 60–80% humidity with steady, gentle air circulation. Allow moisture on flowers and leaves to dry before nightfall.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth, allowing an airy orchid mix to approach dryness between waterings. Reduce frequency when growth slows, but avoid prolonged drought and never leave the pot standing in water.

Additional Notes:

Use a snug pot with an open, bark-based orchid mix, and provide a light stake for flower stems when needed. Retain firm, healthy older canes as nutrient reserves. Repot when new roots begin developing, and apply diluted orchid fertilizer during active growth.
