Elaphoglossum peltatum 'Ecuagenera'

A rare and highly distinctive cloud forest fern from Ecuador, prized for its extraordinarily fine, thread-like fronds that create a delicate, moss-like mounding habit unlike any other Elaphoglossum in cultivation. A true collector's specimen for high-humidity terrariums and cloud forest setups.

• Light: Low to medium indirect light; mimics the filtered light of its cloud forest understory habitat. Avoid any direct sun exposure.
• Temperature: Cool to intermediate-growing — 55–72°F (13–22°C). Thrives with cool nights and good air circulation; avoid prolonged heat above 75°F (24°C).
• Humidity: Very high humidity required, ideally 80–95%. Best cultivated in a closed or semi-closed terrarium to maintain consistent moisture levels.
• Watering: Keep the substrate consistently moist but never waterlogged. Use soft, mineral-free water; sensitive to salts and fluoride buildup.

Additional Notes:

Fronds are extremely finely divided, giving the plant a feathery, almost filamentous texture that forms a dense, compact mound. The overall appearance is reminiscent of a miniature conifer or moss colony, making it a striking accent in vivarium and terrarium compositions.
