Encyclia naranjapatensis is a relatively recently discovered and less common species of orchid native to Ecuador. It grows predominantly in the coastal regions of the country, thriving in dry forest environments. This orchid is notable for its charming and delicate flowers, which are typically small, with a greenish-yellow background accented by brown or maroon markings and a prominent, white or lightly colored lip. The petals and sepals are narrow and spread out, giving the flower a distinctive star-like appearance. Encyclia naranjapatensis blooms mainly in the spring and early summer, producing inflorescences that can bear several flowers, attracting not only the admiration of orchid enthusiasts but also serving as a critical habitat for local pollinators. Due to its specific habitat requirements and limited geographical range, it is of particular interest for conservation efforts within its native Ecuador.
