Goeppertia fucata 'Oasis'

Goeppertia fucata 'Oasis'

A striking prayer plant from the South American rainforests, prized for its bold, elongated leaves featuring deep green tones with contrasting lighter midrib stripes and rich burgundy undersides and petioles — a dramatic combination rarely seen in the genus.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun, which can bleach the foliage. A north or east-facing window is ideal.
  • Temperature: Warm-growing; thrives between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: High humidity preferred, ideally 60–80%. Use a humidifier or pebble tray to maintain consistent moisture in the air.
  • Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. Water with filtered or distilled water to prevent tip burn from fluoride and chlorine.
  • Growth Habit: Clumping, rhizomatous grower that spreads from the base. Does not climb; no support structure needed.

Additional Notes:

Deep forest green leaves with pale feathered midrib striping above and rich burgundy-purple undersides. Like all Goeppertia, foliage moves throughout the day in response to light (nyctinasty).
