Hoya  sp 'Silver Lady'

Hoya  sp 'Silver Lady'

This is a popular unidentified vining epiphyte known for its thick, semi-succulent leaves that are heavily splashed with a shimmery, silver variegation. It is a robust and easy-to-care-for collector's plant that grows well in hanging baskets or on a trellis.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light is necessary to maintain the striking silver color and encourage blooming. It can tolerate some morning sun but avoid harsh midday direct light.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm. This plant thrives in typical household temperatures, ideally maintained between 68-86°F (20-30°C). Protect it from drafts and temperatures below 60°F (16°C).
  • Humidity: Moderate to high (50-70%). It adapts well to average indoor humidity but will flourish with occasional misting or the use of a humidifier.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly, then allow the potting medium to dry out about 75% before watering again. The succulent leaves store water, making the plant highly sensitive to overwatering and root rot. Reduce watering significantly in the cooler winter months.

Additional Notes

Produces clusters of small, fragrant, star-shaped flowers that are typically light pink or white. Do not remove the spent flower stalks as they will produce blooms again.
