Cattleya sincorana

Cattleya sincorana

This compact orchid produces striking lavender-pink flowers with broad petals and a richly colored magenta lip. A pale throat accented by darker veins creates an elegant contrast, giving the blooms a bold presence without requiring much growing space.

  • Light: Bright, filtered light with gentle morning sun. Protect from harsh midday sunlight, and increase light exposure gradually.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm-growing; 65–82°F (18–28°C) during the day and 55–65°F (13–18°C) at night.
  • Humidity: Maintain 50–70% humidity with good air circulation, especially after watering.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth, allowing the medium to dry between waterings. Reduce watering when growth slows, without allowing prolonged dehydration.

Additional Notes:

Short pseudobulbs and firm, leathery green leaves give the plant a compact appearance. Grow in a small pot with a coarse, freely draining orchid mix, keeping new growth unobstructed. Repot when fresh roots begin to emerge so the plant can establish quickly with minimal disturbance.
