More information

Lycaste Muromachi

Lycaste Muromachi

A hybrid of Lyc. Auburn × Lyc. Mem. Kageyuki Mito, two Lycaste with broad, rounded lateral petals and a prominent, erect dorsal sepal. The lip is deeply cupped with dense spotting, and the overall flower form is full and symmetrical, characteristic of the finest Lycaste breeding.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which causes leaf burn and premature pseudobulb shriveling.
  • Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from a cooler, drier rest period in winter to trigger blooming.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; maintain good air circulation to prevent fungal issues on the broad leaves.
  • Watering: Water freely during active growth; reduce significantly after pseudobulbs mature and leaves begin to drop, allowing the mix to dry between waterings during rest.

Additional Notes

Plants are grown in a well-draining bark and perlite mix and shipped bare root, well established. Pot promptly upon arrival and water thoroughly to rehydrate the roots.
