Monstera radicans 'Amazonas'

Monstera radicans 'Amazonas'

A captivating miniature Monstera species native to the Amazon basin, prized for its delicate, fenestrated leaves and compact vining habit. Unlike its larger relatives, this species stays manageable in size while delivering the iconic Monstera aesthetic, making it an ideal choice for terrariums, shelves, or mounted displays.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; tolerates lower light conditions but grows best with consistent bright, filtered light. Avoid direct sun.
  • Temperature: 65–80°F (18–27°C); protect from temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%; thrives in high humidity. Use a humidifier or enclosed terrarium setup for optimal growth.
  • Watering: Water when the top layer of substrate begins to dry; ensure excellent drainage. Reduce watering frequency in cooler months.

Additional Notes:

Foliage features small, intricately fenestrated leaves on slender, creeping stems that root readily at nodes. Plant in a well-draining aroid mix (fine bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss). Fertilize lightly every 4–6 weeks during the growing season. Well-suited for vivarium or terrarium setups due to its compact, moisture-loving nature.
