This hybrid combines Philodendron deflexum and Philodendron acutifolium, offering a distinctive addition to a tropical aroid collection. It is well suited to growers who can provide stable warmth and room for mature development.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light near an east-facing window or behind a sheer curtain. Protect from intense midday sun.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm-growing, ideally 65–85°F (18–29°C). Avoid cold drafts and abrupt temperature changes.
  • Humidity: Aim for 60–80% humidity with gentle air circulation.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the upper layer of the medium begins to dry. Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix that retains some moisture, and never leave the pot standing in water.
  • Growth Habit: Upright growth with aerial roots; provide a moss pole or sturdy support as the stem elongates to encourage attachment and stable development.

Additional Notes:

Give developing leaves space to unfurl, and secure the stem loosely rather than tying the petioles. Guide aerial roots toward the medium or support without forcing them. Feed lightly during active growth and repot gradually as the roots fill the container; individual plants may vary in leaf shape.
