Philodendron esmeraldense (Big)

A rare and highly sought-after climbing Philodendron from Ecuador, producing exceptionally large, elongated heart-shaped leaves in deep glossy green with a prominent pale midrib and elegant, arching form — a true collector's species that makes a commanding statement as it matures.

• Light: Bright indirect light; tolerates moderate light but produces its largest, most impressive leaves under good ambient brightness. Avoid direct sun.
• Temperature: Warm-growing; thrives between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C) and cold drafts.
• Humidity: High humidity preferred, ideally 60–80%. Higher humidity encourages larger leaf development and more vigorous growth.
• Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Avoid waterlogging — ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot.
• Growth Habit: Vigorous climber that develops increasingly large leaves as it ascends. A sturdy moss pole or totem is strongly recommended — aerial roots will attach readily to moist support structures, unlocking the plant's full leaf size potential.
