Philodendron Eternal Sky (Big)

Philodendron Eternal Sky (Big)

A captivating hybrid between Phil. barrosoanum and Phil. tortum, combining the broad, deeply lobed leaf structure of barrosoanum with the narrow, skeletal lobing of tortum — producing dramatically dissected, elongated leaves in bright deep green with a bold, architectural silhouette.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; produces its most dramatic leaf form under good ambient brightness. Tolerates moderate light but growth will be slower. Avoid direct sun.
  • Temperature: Warm-growing; thrives between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C) and cold drafts.
  • Humidity: High humidity preferred, ideally 60–80%. Higher humidity encourages more vigorous growth and deeper leaf lobing.
  • Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings. Avoid waterlogging — ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot.
  • Growth Habit: Upright to climbing grower that benefits from a moss pole as it matures. Providing vertical support encourages larger, more deeply lobed leaves over time.

Additional Notes:

Best grown in a chunky, well-draining mix of orchid bark, perlite, and potting soil. The deeply dissected leaf form becomes more pronounced as the plant matures and climbs — install a moss pole early and keep it moist to encourage aerial root attachment and maximize the ornamental impact of this unique hybrid.
