Philodendron mamei

Philodendron mamei

It is stunning aroid, creeping and terrestrial plant prized for its large, heart-shaped, bright green leaves that feature unique silvery-green mottling and a heavily textured surface, making it an excellent statement plant for collectors.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Keep it out of direct sun to prevent leaf burn and fading of the silver markings.
  • Temperature: 65-85°F (18-29°C). Keep it warm and avoid cold drafts or temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: High (60-80%). Use a humidifier or group with other plants, as this is crucial for health.
  • Watering: Water only after the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Use an airy, well-draining mix.

Additional Notes

Like other Philodendron species, the P. mamei can produce a flower though it rarely does so indoors. It is primarily grown for its highly ornamental foliage.
