Philodendron serpens is a distinctive and intriguing species within the Philodendron genus, notable for its unique features and adaptability as a houseplant. This species is particularly admired for its velvety, heart-shaped leaves and the conspicuous, hairy petioles which give it a distinct texture and appearance. The name 'serpens,' meaning 'creeping' or 'crawling' in Latin, might hint at its growth habit, which could be either climbing or spreading, typical of many philodendrons. Native to tropical environments, Philodendron serpens thrives in warm, humid conditions with indirect light, making it well-suited for indoor cultivation. The plant's care involves well-draining soil, consistent watering to maintain soil moisture without waterlogging, and occasional fertilization to promote healthy growth. With its striking foliage and unusual hairy petioles, Philodendron serpens is a compelling addition to any indoor plant collection, offering a touch of the exotic and a unique visual and tactile experience.

Near Perfect

This is not the easiest plant to ship. I got it to replace one I had when I moved and sold my collection. It showed up with beautiful leaves and the fuzziest petioles - what’s not to love? (Unless that creeps you out?) My only MINOR complaint is that the root system wasn’t robust and it was sent in soaking wet sphagnam moss. I paid for next day delivery so it wasn’t too bad as the roots didn’t have enough time to rot - but again the roots on this plant aren’t robust to begin with and can root easily. I’d suggest next day delivery for this one - and would highly suggest this plant overall for your collection. It’s a showstopper.

Great Deception

I’ve had three different issues from plants arriving dead , wrong size plant sent , even with pictures sent as to plant being shipped, I received a different plant with barely root system to sustain its size . Very difficult people to work with , will not purchase anymore plants from these people . Buy within your Country. Very deceiving seller .

Some root rot but a huge amazing plant overall

This plant was planted in sphagnum moss that was definitely starting to mold, the smell was bad. There were a few rotten roots but to my surprise an actually really great root system. And it's a huge plant! Had to pot it into a 6" pot and need to give him support as he's already that big.
