Philodendron White Wizard

Philodendron White Wizard

One of the most coveted variegated Philodendrons in the collector's world, 'White Wizard' dazzles with its large, heart-shaped leaves boldly sectored and splashed in pure white against a deep, glossy green background. Unlike the 'White Knight' — which shows reddish-brown stems — 'White Wizard' is distinguished by its green and white stems, making it a uniquely elegant and highly sought-after cultivar.

  • Light: Bright indirect light is essential to sustain and enhance white variegation. Avoid direct sun, which scorches the white sections, and low light, which may cause reversion to green.
  • Temperature: Warm-growing; thrives between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: Prefers high humidity (65–85%). A humidifier or enclosed growing environment promotes optimal leaf size and variegation expression.
  • Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist but well-drained. Allow the top inch to dry slightly between waterings; avoid waterlogging.
  • Growth Habit: Vining and climbing; strongly benefits from a moss pole or support structure to encourage larger, more dramatically variegated leaves as it matures.

Additional Notes:

Variegation pattern is unique to each plant — no two leaves are identical. The higher the white variegation, the more sensitive the plant is to direct sun and overwatering. Fertilize lightly during the growing season with a balanced, diluted fertilizer to support healthy variegated growth.
