Phragmipedium Acker's Beauty

Phragmipedium Acker's Beauty

Acker's Beauty is a bold primary hybrid from the cross of Phrag. lindleyanum x Phrag. kovachii, combining the multi-growth vigor of lindleyanum with the large, rounded flower form of kovachii. The result is an impressive bloom with broad, deep magenta-burgundy petals, a full rose-pink pouch with prominent veining, and a distinctively patterned staminode.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; an east- or shaded south-facing window is ideal. Avoid direct midday sun.
  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate-growing — 58–74°F (14–23°C) days, with cooler nights around 52–60°F (11–15°C).
  • Humidity: 60–80%. Good air circulation is essential to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep the media evenly moist at all times; Phragmipedium should never fully dry out. Use low-mineral or filtered water.

Additional Notes:

A vigorous clumping grower that produces large, showy flowers. Best grown in fine bark or sphagnum moss with excellent drainage. Fertilize with a balanced, diluted orchid fertilizer every 2 weeks during active growth.
