Phragmipedium Eugene Banziger 'Pangui Sunset'

This is a breathtaking Phragmipedium hybrid from the cross of Phrag. Hanne Popow x Phrag. Fritz Schomburg, selected for its exceptionally bold, saturated color. The large, symmetrical flowers display deep fuchsia-red petals with a warm salmon-pink pouch — an intense and uniform coloration rarely seen in slipper orchids.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; an east- or shaded south-facing window is ideal. Avoid direct midday sun.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm-growing — 65–80°F (18–27°C) days, with nights around 60–65°F (15–18°C).
  • Humidity: 60–80%. Provide good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep the media evenly moist at all times; Phragmipedium should never fully dry out. Use low-mineral or filtered water.

Additional Notes:

This cultivar produces well-rounded, full-petaled flowers on upright spikes, making it a standout specimen in any collection. Best grown in fine bark or sphagnum moss with excellent drainage.
