Phragmipedium GB

Phragmipedium GB

A hybrid between Phrag. Incan Treasure and Phrag. warscewiczianum, combining the rich color depth of Incan Treasure with the dramatic long-petaled form of warscewiczianum. The result is a large, striking flower with deep burgundy-magenta petals, a bold pouch, and a spotted white staminode — offered here at blooming size, ready to flower.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. Thrives near an east-facing window or under a shaded south-facing exposure. Avoid harsh midday sun.
  • Temperature: Intermediate growing — 60°F–75°F (15°C–24°C). Tolerates brief cooler nights, which can encourage blooming.
  • Humidity: 50–70%. Good air circulation is essential to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep the medium consistently moist but never waterlogged. Use low-TDS water (rainwater or RO preferred). Never allow the roots to dry out completely.

Additional Notes:

The long, drooping lateral petals in deep burgundy with visible longitudinal veining are a hallmark of the warscewiczianum influence. The plant produces sequential blooms on a tall, erect burgundy spike, with buds opening one at a time over an extended season. Narrow, arching bright green foliage provides an elegant backdrop.
