Phragmipedium Leslie Garay x Phragmipedium humboldtii 'Fortuna'

A striking primary hybrid between Phrag. Leslie Garay and Phrag. humboldtii 'Fortuna', combining the sequential blooming habit of Leslie Garay with the dramatically pendulous, ribbon-like petals inherited from humboldtii. The flowers display yellow-green tepals, richly spotted dark brown pouches, and extraordinarily elongated lateral petals — a showstopper on tall, branching spikes.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; an east- or shaded south-facing window is ideal. Avoid direct sun.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm-growing — 65–80°F (18–27°C) days, with nights around 60–65°F (15–18°C).
  • Humidity: 60–80%. Good air movement is essential to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep the media evenly moist at all times; Phragmipedium should never fully dry out. Use low-mineral or filtered water.

Additional Notes:

This hybrid benefits from the sequential, multi-flower spikes of Phrag. Leslie Garay, extending the flowering display over several months. Grow in fine bark or sphagnum moss with excellent drainage.
