Found in Cundinamarca, Cauca, Choco and Valle de Cauca departements of Colombia at elevations around 2400 to 2500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls with a thin tubular sheath below the middle and 2 others above the base and carrying a single, coriaceous, erect, ovate to narrowly ovate, acute, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the summer on an arching, short, arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf, a fascile of, .4 to .7" [1 to 1.7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with as long as the pedicel floral bract.
