Acianthera dodsonii

Acianthera dodsonii

A pendant-growing miniature epiphyte from the cloud forests of Ecuador, bearing fleshy, elliptic leaves densely speckled with dark purple-black dots. Tiny solitary flowers emerge from the leaf axils, adding subtle charm to its cascading habit.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the thin, succulent leaves.
  • Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C); intermediate grower with a preference for moderate temperatures year-round.
  • Humidity: 70–90%; mist regularly or use a humidity tray to maintain consistent moisture around the roots.
  • Watering: Water frequently but allow the mount or medium to approach dryness between waterings; best grown mounted to accommodate its pendant habit and aerial roots.

Additional Notes

Best cultivated mounted on cork or tree fern to allow the ramicauls to cascade naturally. Plants are well-established and shipped bare root.
